Seeding seedlings

Hello again from Simango

We have seeded almost 17,000 red and yellow pepper seeds in the new nursery. This is enough to plant one half-hectare and harvest about 10 tons from July through November. These peppers along with beet root and corgette (zucchini) will provide a financial platform for local residents to improve their water services.

Some 100 or more households will be given the choice to work in a garden or to pay in cash for the improvement of their choice: a new community well, a new community tap, an improved community well (improved to a tap), a new household well, a sand water filter or a treadle pump. We are registering households into the program now, and will begin the irrigation-for-water program in the coming weeks.
